YAY!!!

I am so excited that this term is coming to an end. I have never really been excited about the writing process. I think that this term for me was difficult because I procrastinated on a ton of my assignments. I waited so long to finish my final paper then stressed to get it done and turned in. I have been stretching myself so far in my studying, my house, my kids, my husband, one daughter started track this year and the other started T-Ball. My husband and I are in charge of the T-ball team and I have to manage juggling the team, the house and school. Needless to say my house has taken a back seat to everything else.

This break is much needed and I plan on getting some much needed R and R and also getting my schedule down so that I have time for everyone.

After that rant I guess my area of needed improvement would be time management. This is something that I have struggled with the whole term. Advise to future Comp students would be to stay on top of things. Don't put things off to the last minute. Time flies and you can't get it back.

My final thoughts for the term would be YIPPEE! I am getting closer to the end and closer to starting my career.

Time to take a deep breath and enjoy my family for a couple weeks!!

Thanks for every thing guys.

How do I feel?

Well my paper is almost done. I am hoping to finish it tomorrow and send it off to the writing center for review tomorrow. I feel, HMM, I don't know how I feel. I am hoping that I can accomplish what I set out to accomplish with this paper. To give an awareness of alternatives to medications of ADHD medications. I hope that I did a good job with this. I am truly just ready to be done and take a mental break from school. I am ready for a break. Even if it is only for a week! Hope I get it done tomorrow.

Will I continue to BLOG?

I am not sure if I will continue to blog or not. Sometimes I find when I am frustrated or upset it does help me to get it out thru the blog. However, I don't get a lot of feedback so it really seems like I am just talking to myself and that is no fun for me. I do that on a daily basis. I like to blog but am not sure if it is for me or not. Only time will tell exactly what I will do with my blog page after this class is over.

AH-HA

My AH-HA moment came when I was procrastinating writing my first draft and I actually sat down to write it. The words and ideas and everything just seemed to flow out of my brain and onto the paper. It meant that I needed to trust myself and just do it. Writing to me always was difficult and I really did not want to do it. I hated having to have a length requirement. But once I started to write I found it wasn't too bad. That was my moment in time when the Nike slogan was perfect, "Just Do It". I just needed to do it and get it over with, and it wasn't bad!

The last six weeks!

WOW is the word that comes to mind to the last six weeks. I don't think I have ever felt so overwhelmed. My house has been struggling to stay healthy with all the little "bugs" that the kids bring home from school. My youngest daughter had surgery which took two weeks to recover from. Recently my oldest daughter came down with strep throat. That's just to name the personal things.

During this last six weeks I have found it rather hard to not feel like I am falling behind. I seem to put things off to the last minute and then struggle to make sure that I get things done. I feel like I don't have enough time in the day to get everything I would like to get done. UGH!!

I have not fallen behind in my work yet but feel like if I don't figure things out soon I could very well have a problem staying above water.

Thanks for reading and now on to work on my papers that have become real sense of stress for me lately!

academic challenges

When I read this question I had to take a step back and really think of the answer. I think for me that the answer to this is pretty common among most college students. Time management. I have two kids and a husband and I take care of everything in the home. I also help my mother with their house because they are both unable to take care of the cleaning. So finding time to get my homework done before I see the night turn into the next day is definitely a challenge. I often find myself waiting until everyone else is asleep and then doing it. Which means 9 pm before I even begin.

I have adjusted well I think and will be very grateful for the experience once I am done and can finally get a good night sleep!

Plagiarism post

I think that citing your sources to avoid plagiarism is crucial in giving credit where credit is due. People have worked very hard to obtain the information that they have obtained and for someone to steal that information and not give them credit is just wrong. I would be very upset if I worked long and hard on something and someone knowingly used my information without giving me my proper credit.

Also when we cite someone else's work we also give the reader the option to further investigate what we have written. It gives our own work credibility.

Daughter update

This are starting to get a little better. Mornings are very hard since she sleeps with her mouth open. She wakes up in such pain. I feel so bad for her. As a mother all I want to do is take the pain away from her. On a good note I believe that the fevers are a thing of the past and that we are moving closer to healing.

The other bad part is that she is still having a hard time eating and she is sooooooo hungry. Any suggestions on some filling foods that are soft and easy to swallow would be greatly appreciated. Can't wait to just cook her a yummy meal.

Projects

I finally committed to my project topics. I am finding so much information that I think that I am getting overwhelmed with information. I need to stop researching for now and start to read through what I have. I chose to pick the topic on ADHD and whether to medicate children. I know a ton of people that have had their children "diagnosed" with ADHD so I have an interest in it. We will see what I come up with.

Academic information

I am really struggling to choose a topic for this scientific research paper. I was thinking about doing my paper on hoarding and the treatments for it, but I am not sure what direction to take this paper. My other and more detailed topic is medicating children with ADHD. I think that this would be easier for me to research and get my information to back up my opinion.

If anyone has any suggestions on my topics PLEASE don't hesitate to leave me a comment. I really would like to get some research started ASAP!

Update

Wanted to give an update on how she is doing. She is finally getting some fluids in her system. I am fighting with a fever right now. Also she was having some breathing problems in the hospital so she requires nebulizer treatments at home. She is also on an oral steroid to help clear up her lungs. She says she isn't in too much pain which is great. She is finally eating for the first time since Tuesday night and I made her favorite, MASHED POTATOES AND GRAVY.

I am relieved that she is feeling better. Now if I could get her to take a nap today so that I could get some homework done that would be great. I am really surprised at how much this is taking to get her better. She is still dizzy so I have to help her to the bathroom. Can't wait til its all over and we both get a good night sleep.

On a funny note, she woke up this morning at 6:45 (which was way to early for me) and sat up in bed and looked at me and said, " Morning mommy, I finally got a good night sleep!" I didn't have the heart to tell her that she had slept about 20 hours of the last 24! So sweet. Glad she is feeling rested though!

Thanks for the thoughts and I hope all is well with everyone else.

Tomorrow!

Before I go to bed I wanted to let go of some stress. My youngest is going in for surgery in the morning. Nothing "serious", she is having her tonsils and adenoids removed. I am a little nervous but everything will be fine. I think that I am just nervous more for the recovery time. I hate seeing my baby in pain. I will keep everyone posted on how she is doing throughout the week.

NIGHTY NIGHT ALL!

Amazing

I am amazed that life can throw you so many curve balls and you keep swinging and swinging. Finally after so many you hit it out of the park. Things are really stressful for me right now, but yet I kind of feel a sense of peace. I am not sure I understand it completely or not, but don't question it right?

I am so glad that I feel this way. Life seems to be constantly getting better and better. I have a great family and wonderful friends. I am so glad that God has put all these people in my life when he did. I can honestly say that 10 years ago I was in a different place in my life and I never would have appreciated it as much as I do now.

Thanks again for those of you who read my blog.

For now have a blessed day. I am off to get some homework and housework done.

WOW

Didn't get much sleep last night but thats ok. I know an end is in sight. Need to try not to take a nap today so that I can fall alseep before midnight. Got a lot of reading done last night though. I might be able to achieve my goal of getting everything done in one week.

I am amazed that people that I just met are so willing to lend a hand. I try to not give up faith that God has made amazing and kind people. Just because a few have strayed doesn't mean that everyone is the same. Thank you for that reminder and I hope that the person I am talking about knows who I am talking about. You made my day knowing that help is out there and that it doesn't have to all be done by me and people are willing to help. Thank you!!!

Well I think that I have said all I needed to say for right now. I think that I am getting the hang of this blog thing and am kind of liking it!

I need sleep!

Took Kaylee to the ENT this morning and she is having surgery next Wednesday in order to remove her tonsils and her adenoids. I cannot believe that my baby girl is having surgery. I am relieved that with this surgery she will feel better and be able to final get a good nights sleep. Which means I get sleep too. I feel like I have been up for days. These sleepless nights are really starting to get to me.

Now I have to try to get all my homework done for two weeks in one week and this includes the stuff for my research papers for both classes. Can I really get it all done in one week?

I think for now I am done venting, but am sure that something will come up and I will need to get it all out again.

Thanks to those of you that have taken the time to read this and hopefully I don't freak out between now and next post!

Talk to you all later

children

If I would have been told how many times my kids would be sick I would have probably called you a liar. My poor girls are sick, yet again. Kaylee has a possible ear infection, 3 one in 8 weeks. Off to the doctor soon. Alexus has the upset stomach. All of this while I am trying to get over being sick too. UGH!!!

First blog

I am just testing this out to see how it works. I think that this could be a great and useful tool for this class. Thank you for reading my blog!
